Code of Conduct and how players are expected to act!
1. Positions and playing time will be earned. Where the players start and how long they play in the game will be decided on how the team will be best served and will be the sole decision of the coaching staff.
2. Players will not coach other players in conflict to what we are teaching or planning. In other words, it’s ok to “MENTOR” a player within the confines of our system. However, it is not ok to “COACH” a player to what you want or think should happen. This only causes confusion for players and put us at a disadvantage.
3. If you have a question or concern about how we are doing things, you should speak to your position coach or coordinator before or after practice, never during a practice or during a game. Also, if you feel that your questions are not being answered or you have been ignored, please free to email or call me. You can even approach me during the time mentioned above.
4. This team isn't a democracy, we do not vote on what to do. Ultimately all decisions will be discussed by the coaches and the head coach
will make the final decisions and be held accountable for the outcome.
5. Excused practices consist of the following:
a. the player is sick (running fever, throwing up or doctor holds him out) we prefer no sick players practice due to their health and
the health of the other players
b. death in the family
c. work or Special events that must be attended (must attend and wants to attend aren't the same)
Note of Importance: I do not consider concerts, Disney on Ice, other sports etc. to be considered excused.
6. Players who miss practice for unexcused events and wants will be docked playing time in the next game and if they don't come to practice at all that week they will not play at all.
7. You must be on time to games and practices, there are players that cannot drive, and therefore you are still responsible for being on time. I
understand completely the time that has to be put into life. However, if you are late for practice you will run extra and for a game you will be docked playing time. I consider late for practice to be any time after the starting time and late for games to be anything later than 15 minutes before kickoff. I will ask that you be there 2 hours prior to kickoff. Traffic isn't an excuse, it happens every day, plan for it.
8. My Team Captains are a reflection of the TEAM. They have the same desire, Grit and determination to see this team be successful as the coaches. Therefore, they will be a vital asset to this TEAM.
9. At no time will you disrespect a member of my coaching staff. PERIOD! (Language, Body Posture) We will demand your respect and will not tolerate any player who
disrespects the coaches or other players. I do require that all players address my staff as “COACH” if that's an issue then you can deprogram yourself after the season. REMEMBER! It’s a PRIVILEGE to be a part of this organization. NOT A RIGHT!
10. I believe that the desire to win is a positive thing. However, winning at all cost isn't. We will practice and play to win but not at the expense of the integrity of the game of “FOOTBALL”. IF you disrespect the game, it will surely disrespect you.
A Word from The Coach:
Gentlemen, I will never ask you to do anything that I haven’t either done or would do myself. All I ask. Will you give the TEAM all you have? If
you want to win a championship you have to be willing to bleed for one another rand set aside personnel accolades. Winning isn’t about how bad YOU want to win, rather how bad do YOU want to win for your BROTHERS!
Sincerely,
Coach Wallace
